The Iowa 80 truckstop (which is itself bigger than most outback towns) is the host to the annual Shell Super Rigs Competition. Truckies bring their rigs from all over the country and spend up to a week just cleaning, polishing and putting the final touches on their incredible machines.
Everything – engines, wheels, undercarriage - is chromed, burnished or painted. You think you’ve seen beautifully finished sleepers? Then wait till you see some of the “Condo’s” on these trucks – they’re more like a motel room! One rig featured is done out with a “Gone with the Wind” theme and the condo features velvet covered walls and bed together with a table setting of silver cutlery and crystal goblets!
