Bilby Brothers - the men who killed the Easter Bunny

This is the story of an extraordinary fight to build a fence. A fence that will enclose 25 square kilometres of one of Queensland's most remote and beautiful National Parks - Currawinya, and hopefully, save Queensland's fast-vanishing bilby from extinction.

Bilbies are threatened by feral animals like foxes and cats. Cattle destroy their natural habitat. Bilbies could soon be extinct… but not if Peter McRae and Frank Manthey have their way.

Peter and Frank work at the Queensland National Parks and Wildlife centre in Charleville. Peter's a Zoologist; Frank's a Senior Ranger. They are the driving forces - the dynamos - behind the Save the Bilby Fund.

Peter's been researching bilbies for 13 years. He plays “Mum” to a tiny and precious family of 30 breeding bilbies at the Charleville centre and has plans to release them into the fenced park.

Frank's an ex-roo shooter who became a ranger, and now works passionately to save the bilby.

Peter and Frank need to raise $300 000 to build their fence.

Filmed in spectacular High Definition, Peter and Frank's story is an inspiration to those who believe in a better future for endangered species.

A percentage of the sale price of this video will be donated to the ‘Save the Bilby’ Fund.
